Who are you interning under, what is your role, and what is something that you are most excited to be working on?

I work under Laura Mynahan as an Interior Design Intern. Currently I do not have a lot of experience working on finish boards for clients. I even started to work on one yesterday which is super exciting. It’s very satisfying and a lot of fun to piece them together from the samples in the design library.

Have you interned with us before, if not, have you interned elsewhere?

I have not interned here before. I did a summer internship at a small home staging company near my hometown. It was called ReVamped Interiors LLC, which is based out of Littleton, MA. It was very simple, we had a warehouse that we pulled furniture from when staging a home, just to make it more flattering to the potential buyers. I did this as a summer internship last summer.

Where do you go to school? What year are you, and what do you study?

I go to Endicott College, and I will be a junior studying Interior Architecture. I’m super excited as I will be studying in Florence, Italy this fall!

What drew you to your field?

Oh goodness! Well, my dad is a contractor, so I have always had that slight influence. I was able to help him pick paint colors and furniture. So, it kind of gave me the idea, especially on the interior decoration side of the building. When I heard about the interior architecture major, I was excited as it not only included the furniture and finishes, but the psychology of the space as well.

How did you hear about Element?

I was scrolling through Handshake and found the application. I forgot about it and was pleasantly surprised when I got the call! It happened fast. I had a phone interview and then one in person interview within two weeks, after which I found out I got the job. There wasn’t a lot of wait time which was nice.

How did your first day/week go?

My first day went well. I got to sit in on a few meetings and a client call with CNB Bank. I also worked on some finish boards and a furniture checklist. It was great to get some hands-on work on the first day.

Ok now some fun questions!

Any pets?

I have a cat named Oreo who is 15 years old. Very fat, but very sweet. He loves to walk around and make noise. He doesn’t want anything, he just meows constantly, which is great at 3am! I have another cat named Camo at my dad’s house, who is 7, and the cuddliest thing ever. She loves to run up to the door and greet you when you open it.

Coffee, Tea, Other?

I really want to like coffee, but I just can’t seem to make myself! I am not super partial to tea either, but my favorite drink would have to be Starbucks’ Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher with Lemonade.

Give me one additional fun fact about you!

I am one of 7 siblings! I have three older sisters, a younger brother, one stepbrother, and two younger stepsisters.
